When getting your articles from an Article Writing Service such as provided by The Digital Archives use the following tips on how to make them uniquely yours with a few minutes just tweaking the content.

1) Use your keywords and insert them into the title. You do not need to keep the same title as your article comes with. In fact it is advisable to work your keywords into as many article titles you can ensuring at the same time that you don’t overdo it. You don’t want your articles to be labeled as spam.

Let’s take as an example an article on success that discusses setting goals. Your blog is all about financial advice and you in particular focus on the niche of financial advice for students.

Financial advice and goal setting work together quite well. Your new title could then end up being: Special advice to students on setting goals for financial success.

2) Your first paragraph should have your keywords. You will find it quite easy to add these words into the first paragraph now that your title gives you the guideline for what your article should be about.

Once you have inserted your keywords into the first paragraph read through the whole article making sure that you add the words students and financial success where necessary. These words are especially important when using an example to demonstrate a point.

If the article has an example in it you might want to rewrite that to give an example of a student working on goals for financial freedom rather than the general example you will find in the article.

3) Finally, it is important to find a space in your last paragraph for your keywords. It works on the principle of topping and tailing! Make sure your article has the keywords in the first and last paragraph.

Of course this does not mean that you would want to exclude the keywords from the main body. If you find a place to insert them go for it. Google works on one keyword use for every 100 words of article.

The articles you receive from The Digital Archives’ Article Writing Service are all more than 500 words long with many of them exceeding 600 words. You are safe to use your keywords on three different occasions within your reworked article.

This entire process should not take you longer than ten minutes. Your article has been quality assured and checked for spelling mistakes and grammar irregularities and the content has been written by a specialist writer from the UK.

Your only focus is on having your keywords appear naturally. Your content still needs to flow well. Ensure the sentence still makes sense and that the story line has not been interrupted.

Bringing your keywords into the articles you receive from your Article Writing Service such as those supplied by The Digital Archives will ensure that they are uniquely yours and that Google’s search engine will find your blog.

Article directories are a great way to get exposure for your articles and for yourself the writer. And if you have an internet marketing business then you will most definitely want to use article directories to help you market your business.

There is a directory to serve any niche and interest you may wish to write about. Some directories allow you to write on almost any topic while others restrict the articles to specific areas of expertise. The most popular ones are the ones that allow a wide range of topics.

Some popular Article Directories for you to try out are:

http://www.ezinearticles.com

http://thewhir.com

http://www.goarticles.com

http://www.buzzle.com

http://articlealley.com

http://www.searchwarp.com

http://www.ehow.com

You can post any kind of article to the article directory of your choice. However, if you want to establish yourself as a serious writer or a credible internet marketer you will need to focus on writing high quality articles.

Article directories make your articles available to readers as well as to people who might wish to use your articles for their own purposes. The popularity of your articles are directly in proportion to their quality.

Webmasters or internet marketers looking to reprint articles on their sites will look for articles that have the basics right. Those would be articles with perfect spelling and be grammatically correct.

The advantage you have is that most articles are shoddily written and usually cover the most basic of topics. Any effort you spend on ensuring that your articles are well written and well-researched will pay dividends as they will stand out from the crowd.

The goal of article writing should be to make the article interesting. An interesting article will be snapped up by people wishing to place good content on their sites. They know that good content attracts more traffic and could contribute to higher PageRank.

Your article needs to have a compelling title. Deciding on a title for an article can be really difficult. It is usually advisable to keep the word count down to about five words. It has to be catchy and possibly voice some controversy.

The best way to test whether your title will appeal is to consider whether the title would entice you to continue reading. If you feel you could be too biased, then ask a friend or colleague to rate the title for its attention getting value.

Your well written article is now ready to be posted to the article directories. Most of the big sites are free to sign up to and make the process relatively easy even for the more technically challenged writers.

This is one of the most overlooked self-promotional opportunities you have as an article writer. A Resource Box is your space to advertise yourself when you are using articles to market yourself and your internet business.

You write articles, submit them to article directories, have a resource box that links back to you and you get great exposure.

Some good article directories to sign up for by the way are:

http://www.ezinearticles.com

http://thewhir.com

http://www.goarticles.com

http://www.buzzle.com

http://articlealley.com

http://www.searchwarp.com

http://www.ehow.com

On sign up you will have the opportunity of completing an author’s bio or resources box. Some sites in fact allow you to complete both. This aspect of writing articles for directories is almost as important as the article itself.

Your resource box content will depend on what you would like to achieve for yourself.

Are you submitting articles because you wish to start an internet business?

Are you wishing to earn a reputation as a writer?

Perhaps you would like to increase your copy writing work.

Here are some guidelines on how to compile your details for the resource box.

Start with the author’s name, most probably yours, or whatever name you would like to be known as. It seems obvious, but some people do forget to include their own name!

You will want to provide your website address. It is advised to limit the number of links you provide. Don’t confuse the reader. Lead them to one site. If you provide too many options you will find that none are chosen and you lose out on a valuable source of traffic.

Provide a unique selling proposition or also commonly known as an elevator pitch as to why you are the expert on the topic you have written about and what other skills you offer. You have a few sentences in which you can introduce yourself to readers.

In this section it is best to write in the third person. Start with your name.

As an example:

Joe Bloggs is a qualified nutritionist with twenty years experience helping many people to live happy and healthy lives. He writes about nutrition for families, with especial care and attention on a healthy life style for youngsters. He is particularly concerned at the rate of obesity in young children and offers some good advice for parents to ensure their kids grow up into healthy adults.

A final part to your resource box is your call to action. However, be subtle about this. Avoid a direct request such as click here. Rather invite the reader to visit your site and provide an incentive. A possible wording could be: For further information or to download the free Guide to…

Your resource box is your trade off for providing the article directory with your free content. This is your opportunity to promote yourself. In other words you give something by writing an article and you receive a link opportunity back in return. Make full use of it!

Who do you listen to and believe?

How does somebody earn your respect and trust?

At what stage will you find them so credible that you will take their advice?

It works the other way around as well.

How do you become credible and how does article writing fit into this?

Let’s first look at why you would want to build credibility in the first place.

If you are writing articles for fun, building up an online credibility might not be that important to you. But what if you want to build up a blog, even if it’s just for fun, to eventually earn you some money?

The only way you will earn money online is by being credible. You don’t necessarily need to be credible overall, you just need to have credibility in the one field you are writing about in other words, your niche. Although being perceived to be an all-round nice and honest person helps if you ever want to add on another niche and make a living from this.

It’s very similar to the offline world.

Think about this. How do you decide on a doctor, a dentist, an accountant or lawyer if you need legal help? Most often you find these professionals by asking around and getting referrals.

How do you decide what your favourite supermarket is? You try it out. If your experience is a good one then the supermarket builds credibility with you. If you don’t enjoy the shopping experience, could be because the prices are too high or the sales staff are rude, then you try another store.

The very same processes work online. Readers will come to your blog to try out what you are offering. If they don’t enjoy the experience they will not return. They will also not refer your blog or site to anybody else.

So how do you get to build credibility online?

Your first step is to set up your profile and create your personality around this. Be genuine and true to the real you. Add some personal details so that you become human and people can relate to you.

Your second and most important step is to create an online continuous presence by writing articles. Build a reputation online for good content that can be trusted to be relevant to your readers.

Write on topics that interest you and that you can be passionate about. Your passion will come through in your writing. Write consistently good articles with a message that stays on topic.

As you continue to write on your topic people will start to develop trust in your knowledge and expertise. It will mean they find your opinions credible and worth listening to.

Eventually as you build this trust you will be able to use your credibility to sell products and services. This may be equally true for your own offering or somebody else’s products and services. Many online marketers who have established their reputation make more money endorsing other products than selling their own.

Article writing will be your most important tool in building your reputation online. Without credibility you will not be able to grow a successful online business.

The title is your sales copy. It makes your readers want to carry on. It is probably the most important bit of real estate when it comes to writing articles to get traffic with. Spend time on it. It’s worth it.

The purpose of your title or ‘headline’ is to get readers to commit to reading your article, or at least the first paragraph. It’s your hook to start the conversation.

The title is important because it allows people to quickly decide whether they want to carry on or not.. The overload of information, especially as presented on the internet, means that the reader has no time to read an article to decide whether they liked it or not. He makes the decision on the title.

Some of your readers only hear about your article via their RSS feeds or social media links. The title has to make them want to click back to your site to read the article. This means your title has to be truly compelling to get that action out of a busy person.

Here are some ‘don’ts’. Don’t use all capital letters in your headline. You want to talk to people not yell at them. It could also mean that some site administrators might have to edit your title or might even reject your article outright.

Make sure your headline can stand on its own. If your title only makes sense if you read the article then it won’t attract attention because people won’t know what you are talking about. They are not going to stop to find out. Intrigue is good, but confusion is not.

Here are some to do tips. One good way to write a compelling title is to offer a benefit. These generally start with words such as ‘How’ or ‘Top 5 ways to… In other words your title will promise to meet a need.

A good title may create controversy or debate and your reader will want to get involved in the topic. If your title states that Obama did not deliver on his election promises you might want to read on as to why not and see whether you agree or not.

Ask a question. In the reader’s mind he will want to answer it especially if you direct the question at the reader. ‘Are you wanting to lose weight painlessly?’ will attract a reader who is battling with weight issues.

Use the title to speak directly to the reader. An easy way to do this is to use the word ‘you’ or ‘your’. Titles such as ‘Make your business a success’, or ‘10 fun bath games for your baby’ will get you many readers.

Keywords are great to have in your title. These are especially invaluable if you are using your articles to drive traffic through. Search engines particular love keywords. If your keyword is hayfever for instance then your title could be ‘Great ways to prevent your hayfever’.

Use some power words and phrases. Find these on magazine and front pages of newspapers. Just to give you some to start off with here are a few power words – free, for less, stunning, discover or easy. Lists are always popular. Use – top 10, the hottest, best ways, reason to. Also try intrigue. Use words such as – secrets, best kept secrets, little known and behind the scenes.

Keep your titles short. Many search engines and RSS feeds only display the first 65 characters or even less. You don’t want your titles to be chopped off and not make sense anymore.

Don’t use punctuation. You don’t want to stop the reader. A full stop can make the reader think that’s the end. The whole point of the headline or title is to ensure the reader continues into the first paragraph.

Your title is your sales pitch. Don’t underestimate the importance. Your title is what draws your traffic. Your content is what will bring them back for more.

Learning how to write articles can be quite a process and that first article coming hot off the press could get you all enthusiastic. Before rushing to enter your first work to a Pullitzer nomination panel, remember to check and recheck for errors.

The best way to check for errors in your articles is to get somebody else to proof read them for you. Of course this is not always possible. There might not be anybody suitable available to do this for you.

If you are the only one to take on the quality assurance mantle that doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t take on the job yourself. You might not see all mistakes as it is often easy to read the same mistake several times without seeing it. But you will pick up most of them.

Besides checking for the obvious errors such as spelling mistakes which you should find easily with the help of your word processing spell check, there are other elements you need to check for.

Read the article and see whether the language flows easily. Have you used different words or do you see instances where you might have used one word too often. You might wish to use a Thesaurus to find different words that mean the same.

Besides spelling and grammar do also check for inconsistencies in your argument. Are you jumping from one point to the next or are you following a discussion through in a logical manner.

A more basic point to check for is whether the actual content makes sense. Are you contradicting yourself, does the discussion flow in a logical way, are your points easy to understand and do they contribute to the value of the article?

Sometimes it is easy to lose your way. This happens especially often if you have been interrupted while writing and find yourself on a different thought path. You might need to split the article into two different ones and in some cases you might even need to start again.

Starting again can be very disheartening. However, it can be that your article is beyond repair and you might find yourself spending a lot more time on repairing it than if you had just trashed it and started from the beginning again.

It’s a little like trying to make a white sauce. If there are too many lumps you might want to just throw the sauce out and start again. Sometimes writing an article is a little like making white sauce!

Do remember though that when you are looking for perfection and it seems to be passing you by that writing articles is a learning process. It is rare that a writer is published on his first attempt, whether as a short article writer or as a novelist.

It will take a fair amount of practice for you to start feeling a little happier about your article writing efforts. Do not give up. As with all new things, it will become much easier with time and you will wonder eventually why you ever thought that learning how to write articles would be such a difficult thing to do.

This sounds like a particular uninspiring topic. What does the format have to do with how to write articles? It actually does have some relevance. In fact the newspaper and magazine publishers have made format into an art.

Have you ever noticed that newspapers and magazines have different column widths? There is an interesting theory behind this. It takes your eyes longer to scan content when the line of text scans from one end of the page to the other.

This means that scientific journals tend to run their lines right across the page. On the other end of the spectrum, how much attention does one have if reading about celebrities? Not much. Readers just want to get the quick details. The bits of scandal is all they are interested in.

This means that magazines publishing to an audience who want to quickly read about their favourite or not so favourite celeb will want to read quickly. You will notice, now that you are looking at it, that these rag mags have quite narrow columns and short paragraphs.

It makes it easier to scan the content. For scientific or architectural journals the reader will want to take his time and read carefully in order to understand the content. Your audience composition therefore will influence how your format of your article will look.

If you are writing your articles for the internet you will need to remember that most readers will visit the internet to learn something quickly, scan content for relevance and in general remember that the internet reader is not there for leisurely browsing.

This is the reason why short articles are favoured over lengthy tombs of content. It also means that your paragraphs should be short and your articles not too long. About five hundred words is a good length to aim for.

A particularly popular format for the internet is the point form article. These articles usually have titles such as ‘5 reasons you got ditched’ or 10 things to remember when …’. The reason for this particular genre to be appreciated is that readers are in a hurry. A point format article gives the sense of an informative but nevertheless quick read.

On the other hand if you are writing articles that will be used in a more learned environment your approach would probably need to be quite different. You would need to write longer, provide many cross references and substantiate your arguments with supporting data.

Besides your width of your column, length of article, the use of point form and the size of your paragraph what other format considerations would one need to bear in mind? Some format suggestions which are not entirely article writing related are such items as not using font that is too small.

In particular for writers wishing to publish their articles on the internet such consideration as background colour and font style are formating issues which do make a difference but could be the topic of another article. Learning how to write articles requires you to consider format as well as the words you write.

Of course the immediate question that comes to mind would be to be successful at what. This particular title refers to just being successful at anything in general. How would article writing fit into this picture?

There are many ways that article writing can make somebody successful. There is the actual writing itself. One can become a successful writer. This would cover articles as well as progressing to writing a novel. Article writing can be the start of an exciting career as an author.

One can be a very successful article writer by writing for the internet specifically. This could be using the writing skills for a successful internet marketing career. Or it could be used to create exposure for oneself in a field such as social media where the art of writing well is a definite advantage.

But overall success from article writing all boils down to the internet. The internet, more than any other tool has ever managed to offer, allows any person to become a success.

Just to provide a few examples think of the following. A historian could write articles on his particular field of research and become well known and successful within this field. A person interested in art appreciation or somebody enthusiastic about stamp identification could do likewise.

The internet allows every person with a passion or enthusiasm to make a name for themselves by writing articles on their particular expertise. Some folk even make a success of writing arbitrary content about celebrities. One such example is Perez Hilton.

If you are passionate about something and are prepared to work really hard, you can become successful by writing about what makes you passionate. And this applies to anybody and any topic.

There are other examples of how article writing can help you to become successful. In this instance, your expectations of success could be different. That is, your idea of success could be that you would like to get a really nice job. So how would article writing help you with that?

Set up a presence online. You can do this by setting up a blog or developing a really nice page on MySpace or Facebook and start writing about yourself, your interests and your passions. Add to this articles on what you have achieved in your career as well as how you have been serving your community.

Constantly add to this portrait of yourself. Continue to educate, challenge and stretch yourself and write about it. Run that marathon, work as a volunteer in a shelter near you, get involved in promoting an issue such as setting up a park for kids near you. Then write about it. Make a noise about what you are doing.

With other words, spend time doing activities that show you can succeed and write about your successes in a public space. Mention your articles on Twitter, post them on article directories, bookmark them and share them where ever you can.

Eventually people will start noticing. You will be surprised what can come out of that noticing. Learning how to write articles to be successful could just allow you to fulfill your dreams.

Learning how to write articles for fun needs to be a fun activity in itself. That doesn’t mean that all writing will go smoothly and effortless. Putting effort into something can be fun too. In fact most people have the greatest amount of fun when they have to work really hard.

Just look at the many marathon runners. Out of the thousands that enter and complete the London marathon at least half of the competitors are there to have fun. Ask them half way through their race why they are doing this, they will probably tell you that they must have been mad in the head.

Ask them again at the end of the race when they have finished and they will be full of smiles and telling you what great fun it’s been. Hard work doesn’t stop anybody from having fun.

So what could possibly be fun about writing an article? The fun is about achieving something, having something we created out there. That’s why there are so many blogs out there. It is the first time that everybody can show their creativity.

It is a chance for you the writer to make a small creative mark. Sure, some bloggers can even make a very big mark. But for the ordinary folk out there who are not natural born creative people and in your face self-serving sales people, the internet world allows us to be creative and be guaranteed to have an audience.

Of course you have to work for the audience and promote your blog so that you are visible. But provided you do that, you will find that there will be people that visit your blog and who reward your efforts at writing with praise and with return visits.

That’s what makes writing articles fun. It’s getting recognition for your work, your effort and your creativity. Something that you might not get in a boring job, at home even, or amongst your friends.

It allows you to shine even if you never shone at school or at college. Even if you have a boring job that doesn’t allow you one moment of individualism writing an article on your blog can become your moment where you can show the world that you do have a worth while opinion, that you have a creative streak and that you are worth listening to.

Learning how to write articles for fun should be number one on your list of skills to learn. You will hate it at times because it’s not easy. You will be hurt if somebody leaves a critical comment on your blog. But most of all you will love the fact that you as a person have left your mark. So go for it!
